Spend 10 days backpacking through the mountains of the great Southwest at Scouting's finest high
adventure experience; Philmont Scout Reservation located near Cimarron, New Mexico. Depending upon
your hike selection, scouts may participate in backcountry activities such as rock climbing and
repelling, horseback riding, fly fishing, black powder rifle shooting, blacksmithing, gold panning,
30.06 rifle shooting, archaeology, conservation, and other outdoor activities.

Finances:
- Trip cost is approximately $750 to $800
- Deposit due January 27th, $100
- Payment 1 of $325 is due March 1st
- Payment 2 of $325 is due April 1st
- All payments are non-refundable as per Philmont policy
Trip Requirements:
Scouts must be:
- 14 years old, or 13 and have completed the eighth grade
- First Class rank and has completed the First Aid merit badge
Scouts and adults must:
- Complete 25 miles of preparatory hikes
- Complete a two night backpacking trip with your crew
- Meet the Philmont height/weight guidelines
- Complete a medical exam and turn in a
Medical Form by May 31
- At least one member of each crew must be trained in Wilderness First Aid (16 hours) and CPR
