C) Attach a $25 deposit (checks should be made out to BSA Troop 137)
D) Attach a photocopy of your medical insurance card
E) Complete the Troop Agreement Form (page 13 in the Packet)
F) Complete the Photo Release Form (page 14 in the Packet)
G) Bring all of this to the Barn and give it to Linda Rehm
WE WANT (NEED) ADULTS AT CAMP:
Each year we need 6-8 adult leaders to attend camp (cost free) to help organize and supervise the Scouts. We call this work, but it is actually an excuse to have fun—you get to spend the week camping with your own son, you get to know lots of other great Scouts in the Troop, and there are activities available just for the adults.
If you can spend the week at camp this year, please complete the short
Leader Registration Form
(2007 form, to be updated soon) and give it to
Linda Rehm.
Beyond the adults who will lead camp for the week, we also welcome adults who can come for a night or two during the week. When we get closer to the start of camp we will ask for the names of adults who can come up for a day or two.
MEDICAL FORMS
Complete and up-to-date medical forms are required for all Scouts and adults attending Boxwell. These are not needed when a Scout registers, but must be submitted to David Carleton no later than May 15 (earlier is always better).
1) All Scouts (except those doing COPE) must submit the
Class 1+2 Medical Form:
a) The “Class 1” portion of the form (which is filled out at home) must be updated
and redone every year;
b) The “Class 2” portion of the form (completed by a doctor) only needs to be
redone every 36 months. So, if you completed a new “Class 2” last year, you
may simply attach a new “Class 1” to your “Class 2” from last year.
2) Scouts doing COPE and all adults attending camp must submit the
Class 3 Medical Form EVERY year.
Please try to get your medical forms completed by your own physician, if possible. The “Class 2” form, for instance, can frequently be handled via mail or fax if a Scout has had a regular check-up in recent months.
We are usually able to arrange a Tuesday evening in April or May when several physicians come out to the Barn and volunteer their time to conduct physicals and complete the medical forms (for Scouts and adults). But… we don’t want to ask these volunteers to do physicals for scores and scores of people, so if you can take care of your medical form on your own, please do.
SWIM TESTS
For basic safety, Boxwell requires every Scout and adult who will be going in or on the water to complete a swim test. This is required to swim at the pool, swim in the lake, and to go water skiing, canoeing, wake boarding, kayaking, sailing, or motor boating. Based on the swim test, each person will have “swim tags” at both the pool and the waterfront. You have to present your tag to participate in any water activities.
Boxwell allows NO EXCEPTIONS to the swim test requirement. So, even if you are on a swim team or have earned the swimming or lifesaving merit badges, you still need to complete the swim test each year. And, yes, adults going in or on the water must take the swim test too.
The staff at Boxwell will conduct swim tests, but there are often LONG lines the first day of camp. To avoid this, we will schedule a night or two later in the Spring (with an appropriately certified leader) to conduct swim tests either at the YMCA or Williamson County Rec Center. We want to get everyone tested before leaving for camp, so when these swim tests are announced, please try hard to get your Scout there.
TAKING MEDICATIONS AT CAMP
If a Scout will be taking any medications at camp, you will need to complete the
Medication Card. This can be submitted anytime up to the day we leave for camp. At camp, all medications will be held and dispensed by a designated adult leader.
IF A SCOUT WILL NEED TO LEAVE CAMP DURING THE WEEK
If a Scout will be leaving camp during the week—for a family event, a sports event, or so on—please complete and submit the
Scout Release Request.

ADULT FORMS
There are still more forms you may want or need:
All adults attending camp must submit the
Class 3 Medical Form
every year.
Scoutmaster Merit Badge: Each year, adult leaders at camp have the opportunity to complete the Scout Master’s Merit Badge. If interested, this is your form.
