Hawaii - Level 2 Trip

The islands of Kauai ad Oahu are currently scheduled for our trip in 2012. Much of the trip will be spent hiking and exploring the mountains and coast of Kauai, including the Na Pali and Waimea Canyon.

Itinerary (tentative):

• Day 1
  • Travel to Honolulu
  • Bed down at USS Missouri
  • Participate in flag ceremonies
• Day 2
  • Tour Pearl Harbor and USS Arizona Memorial
  • Hike Diamond Head
  • Travel to Lihue, Kauai
  • Drive to and bed down at Boy Scout Camp Faye
• Days 3 to 7
  • Hike Na Pali Coast
  • Hike Waimea Canyon
  • Swim, snorkel & canoe
  • Attend luau
• Day 8
  • Explore and shop for souvenirs
  • Leave for home

Finances

• Approximately $1600-1800 per person which includes airfare/baggage, ground transportation, food, council donation, camp fees, and activity/ticket fees

Trip Requirements:

Scouts must:

• Attend Scout meetings on a consistent basis (Troop meetings, Courts of Honor, Venture meetings)
• Be 14 years old by July 31, 2012
• Have earned First Class rank by April 30, 2012
• Completed/Earned the Swimming merit badge
• Work at least four (4) shifts at the Christmas Tree lots during the 2011 tree sales
• Participate in other fundraising activities for the trip
• Demonstrate ability to hike rugged terrain
