Level I and Level II Trips
Troop 137 offers a variety of trips throughout the year as part of the program. The Level I and Level II trips are some of the major events Scouts look toward each year.
Level I trips are for all Scouts consisting usually of a one-week road trip based on a theme. The trips help the Scouts develop camaraderie and independence while reinforcing exploring new experiences and being a "band of brothers" in the Troop program. Scouts return with a greater sense of belonging and enjoyment of the Troop.
Level II trips are for older Scouts who are prepared for the rigors of a High Adventure trip. These trips are one- to two-week adventures usually at a greater distance and including challenges such as Philmont (backpacking), Boundary Waters (canoeing), or open-water sailing (Sea Base or sailing ship experiences). Due to the physical, mental, and emotional demands of these trips, Scouts must be approved by the trip leaders as ready for the level of adventure. Scouts typically begin Level II trips in their third or fourth year with the Troop (around age 14).
